M3 Ministry (Men Mentoring Men)
The M3 Ministry promises to be another vital ministry at Eastview Christian Church. The impact in God’s Kingdom will be both immediate and long term. Each man changed by this ministry will, in turn, change families, children, coworkers, neighbors, and strangers alike. The M3 Ministry seeks to foster “relationships that change men’s lives.” We also firmly believe that the best mentoring begins when there is an existing connection between two men. These relationships deepen when you take the following steps:
1) PHYSICAL -Men connect when they have common interests and are physically doing things together. M3 encourages fostering relationships through a wide range of activities. Mentors should consider sponsoring activities in areas that are already of interest to them. Examples might include working on cars, building houses, sports, etc.
2) SOCIAL - Once men have participated together in a physical activity such as mentioned above, they are often ready to open up and be social in the way that God calls them to – through fellowship. Once this has occurred, they often become more receptive to guidance in their spiritual journey.
3) SPIRITUAL - It is at this level that true growth occurs, and to reach it is the ultimate goal of the M3 ministry. As Proverbs 27:17 states, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” This is the call that defines M3.
Being a mentor might be one of the most fulfilling and growing experiences you will ever have in your life. Take time right now to pray for God’s will. Is He calling you to be a part of this ministry? You will be joining a great group of men dedicated to furthering God’s Kingdom one man at a time.
If God has placed this call upon your life, please contact Jim Karch at jkarch@cityblm.org or (309)275-9650 for a packet of information about this ministry.
